History Is Important!

I'm sitting here thinking about the importance of history, one's family, one's family history. I have an incredibly interest in this. Both in terms of my own family and your dad's family - our combined families! It's important to know where we came from. It has an influence on who we are and who we will become in the future! It is however NOT the deciding factor of who you will become! And...this is important - to me anyways - we are NOT our families. We are who we choose to become! So may you always take the steps that are right for you in the future. Not the steps I or your father may hope you would take, but the steps that are right for you! And if I ever become obnoxious about something in this regard - please do go ahead and remind me of this posting! ;)

Today, I spoke with your Opa about the whole issue of family and family histories. I'm pretty excited, because Opa agreed to write an Al-Haddad family history down for you spanning something like 3 generations. In English with pictures!!! I can't wait to see it! I will scan it all in or type in what he gives to me when I get it. He also promised me all the documentation for you to prove your status in the Al-Dami clan should you ever need it. You may very well never need to make use of these materials, but I think it is good to have them nonetheless!

And I have a few pictures for today's posting. We are slowly moving some of your/Theo's toys, etc. out of the living room and into Theo's room and the basement. The move of Theo's drum set is most notable as Theo wanted to have it in the basement on a 'stage' to play in a band with his dad! Here are some pics of that!

Theo 'on stage' with his drumset!

Theo (aka his alter ego Batman) drumming while playing music with dad! :)

Love you Theo!
