It has been one of those days...

Today was ok..not brilliant, but ok. We started the day off pretty well. Theo woke me up, then I gave him a bath (i.e. I filled the tub for him and he played in it - he had a real bath yesterday), then he had breakfast, then I had a shower, then we got going for the day.

We tried to go on a horsedrawn wagon ride today for the last time for the summer. As we arrived we saw them starting a ride...or so we thought. So we decided to wait. Theo was pretty stubborn about it and we kept walking up to the corner to see if they were coming back yet. Well...about 40 minutes later we gave up (Theo didn't want to, but I did) and went to the food tent where we ran into Wyatt, one of the drivers of the wagon. He told us that the weather was so bad and that no one came to see them that they decided to pack it in - precisely when we arrived! Poor Theo. He really wanted to see the horses one more time. So Wyatt took us to see them in their trailer to say goodbye! Theo was so happy! He got to pet them and then waved goodbye to them! We'll see them again next spring when the Landsdowne Market starts again! Or maybe sooner - there is a Festival of Lights on Nov. 29th they will be at. Hopefully we can make it.

Today was trying in other ways. Theo is simply not listening to me at the moment. It's very frustrating! And that's the understatement of the century! I know that's what 2 year olds are supposed to be like, but things can't continue like this. Today he pretty much did the opposite of everything I asked him to do all day! More on this at another time, but we did have a showdown just prior to heading to MEC to pick up a computer bag for me. We'll see how things go on from here.

I feel really badly when things go like this. It makes me sad and I wish I knew how to fix this so that he listens and doesn't fight everything all the time. I know suck it up...it only intensifies as they get older! But I really want to try and have some good foundations so that I am able to talk to Theo now and hopefully continue this later also. I know - one can hope - and it won't be easy when he's a teenager. As it is with every teenager. But I really do NOT want to replicate my teenagehood! So I will continue to try...more on this at another time also...

Well, Theo is napping right now. It's really late for a nap, but I'm taking advantage of it. I just finished folding the laundry, I'm going to make my bed and then get started on packing. I have to travel for work tomorrow.

Over and out.
