I couldn't think of a better title today. It all started last Friday (when I took Theo to the doctor's office as I was suspicious that he had an ear infection again - the doctor said that Theo was fine and didn't even think that Theo had a cold. But he did have a cold - he had the sniffles and a bit of a fever on Saturday, but seemed better on Sunday).
This week Theo hardly went to daycare. On Monday he was sick at home with Jamie. On Tuesday he came to work with me (Cheryl had the day off). He had fun with all his toys at my office and loved going to see Dr. Mark for his chiropractic adjustment, but towards the end of the day he seemed tired, grumpy and a bit pale. Sure enough - he got sick again that night and I stayed home with him on Wednesday. On Thursday he went back to daycare as his fever had gone down and he actually had breakfast and seemed generally cheery. But around 3:30 pm I got a call that he was sick again. So I picked him up and took him to the doctor's office again. Thankfully we managed to get that appointment. This way we would be able to stay home on Friday without having to go out too much. I had already decided to stay home the next day at that point as Theo was really feeling quite sick. While we were waiting for the doctor to see us Theo made himself a little bed out of my coat and his coat (as a pillow) on the floor of the waiting room. He was too cute! But I was worried about him. This was definitely not typical behaviour for Theo!
This time the doctor told us that Theo had a bit of a chest cold and an ear infection on both ears. He was prescribed antibiotics, which helped very quickly. Nonetheless I wasn't going to take any chances. Today I stayed home with Theo again. We had a lovely and relaxing day together. Hopefully things will continue this way over the weekend so that he is well again on Monday and can go back to daycare to play with his friends!
So it hasn't been an easy week in that regard. On the other hand Theo has been a very patient little man and has cuddled with us on the couch and has really tried hard to take his medicine. He definitely stayed put, which is another indication that he wasn't well. He has also had lots of fun watching kids movies (one of them was 'Ice Age-The Meltdown'), 'Thomas the Tank Engine' episodes and a video called "Mighty Machines - at the airport".
We went outside a little bit today. Theo found a pile of leaves in the backyard beside his secret house and jumped right in! He had great fun spreading the leaves around (sorry Jamie)! Then we went back inside, had lunch and now he is napping.
On another note - I got to see my tattoo design today. I really like it. But it is still in line drawing format. I think I want to see it when it is a little further along though. My appointment for this tattoo is next Wednesday at 5:30 pm. I'm a bit nervous... :)
Tonight my friends Onalee and Elizabeth are coming over. I'm going to show them how to make stained glass. Should be fun!
I'm going to check on Theo now. He's been asleep for over 2 1/2 hours now. But if he wants to sleep, that's fine with me. It should help him get better!!! I was really worried about him this week. His fever just wouldn't go away! Despite staying home, medicine and sleep. But today he looked much better, was far more energetic and ate more than he did all week! I'm quite relieved!
