Today I am in Richmond, B.C. for work. I'm at the AHTF Coordinator's Workshop that is taking place here. It is going well.
Today we heard a lot of interesting presentations and it was good to hear what the coordinators for the various First Nations, Inuit or Metis projects are up to and what the status of their projects is. Some are just in the initial phases of their projects and some are far more advanced.
It has been good to be here and network with everyone! Also, Dr. Evan Adams presented at this conference. This is Evan Adams who acted in a pretty fun and fairly high profile movie called 'Smoke Signals' amongst others. I had no idea that he had become a doctor and was such a high profile person in the health field here in B.C. and that he was so accomplished academically! So he is an MD and now he is working on another MA in Public Health. That's pretty amazing! It was quite interesting to listen to him. And it was very funny to watch the Evan Adams Fan Club afterwards. People were lining up to have their picture taken with him!
From what I hear from Jamie, Theo had a good night last night. Usually he's quite upset and wants Mommy the first night that I'm traveling for work. This time, before I left, I talked to him about going on a trip and that I would be away for '3 sleeps'. That seemed to have done the trick. That and the fact that I told him I would bring something back for him from my trip! I found a cute toy for him too. It's a little airplane that if you pull it back on a table shoots forward with its propellor going also! I think he will love it! :)
Anyway, I'm sort of pooped - right, no bathroom talk allowed - ok, I'm super tired. But I'm still contemplating going out a bit with everyone. At least for dinner...I'll see I guess. I have about half an hour to make up my mind...
