Checking In Again...

Wow, it has been a while since I've been writing on this blog for Theo. Lots has happened.

Theo has been growing like a weed and is now more than half as big as I am. I'm doomed. He's going to tower over me before long. Which is good. :)

We've had a very good month. More than a month, but it has been good. Christmas has come and gone and Theo has had a wonderful time. He loves his gifts. But we had a bit of a trying time before Christmas as he wasn't exactly into listening for that month. Periodically he would realize how he was behaving and would run up to me in tears telling me that he thought Santa wouldn't bring him anything...I always told him that wasn't the case, but that he should try to be extra special good, at least for a little while. It's hard being 4 years old. Everything changes all the time. Theo is learning so quickly - it's almost like information overload and he has to figure out what to do with all this new information. He's good at it, but it's still a lot to learn and put in the right place. He's not a baby or a toddler anymore. He's a little boy with a mind of his own. And a temper to boot. I know where that comes from...having the same kind of mind and temper....but this is good. I will never try and stifle that.

So...what else is going on in my life...well, our family's life. Ok, my life. I've decided to put my name in to go on the Canadian Boat to Gaza in the spring. I don't know if I'll be chosen, but if they do select me, I will go. This was a big decision for me. But I made it and if there is any way for me to go, I will go.

Theo is doing great at school. We went to a Christmas Open House at his school, which was great fun! I love this school. It is massively multi-cultural and inclusive of all! Which are two different things. I'm personally still not used to this as my surroundings as a kid in Germany at least were so very different. But that was a long time ago and it's about time that things change...here in Canada/the US at least...maybe in Europe too, although I'm not holding my breath in some instances. What once was purely economic racism is completely getting out of hand these days and discrimination against brown people/muslims is rampant. Not just across the pond, but here a bit also. But certainly not to the degree that it is being experienced in Europe.

So what's next? At this point I don't really know. We're all continuing with the status quo. But most importantly; Theo is having fun with life.

Which is as it should be.

More at another time. Over and out for now!
