Catching Up Again - Kneen Summer Holidays 2010

Wow, I have a lot of catching up to do. It has literally been a month since I've written anything for this blog. I've been on holidays for a month! It was great and a lot has happened! It is hard to be back at work. But I'm definitely not bored! :)

First of all, we went on holidays at Sandbanks near Picton for four days! It was absolutely great! We had a wonderful time camping, swimming, flying kites and biking. We also participated in all kinds of activities such as going on a dune walk, a walk on the cedar trail (we made it almost half way but had to turn back due to time and I had not brought my knee brace and would not have lasted for long unfortunately). We also participated (or rather Theo did) in the kids activities that were held in the Sandbanks Amphitheatre. Here are some pictures from our time there!

While on holidays we also had our bathroom renovated. It was supposed to take a week, but in the end it took two weeks! So we ended up staying at Cathleen's and Brewster's place (aka Grandma's and Grandpa's place) for a few days, as well as at our cottage. The final result of the renovation was FABULOUS! I will post 'before' and 'after' pics as soon as I can get at them!

While at the cottage I decided to clean house. I realized that I had never stayed there for more than one night at a time - in three years!!! So we cleaned up! We got rid of all the rotting wood under the deck, got rid of any clutter or garbage that didn't belong there (like that ancient fallen apart ice box beside the shed) and I made new curtains for the whole place! We also hung up owl my stained glass pieces at the cottage. It looks way better there than it did at home!

The big news of that cottage visit was that Theo caught his first fish ever!!! I caught a small bass! It was so great! Jamie ended up catching another one with a net so that we had a small meal. Theo was super happy to have caught the fish, but didn't want to eat any of it once we had lunch. But that's ok! The fish were very tasty!
