Yes, this is it. Theo loves sports and wants to try them all! For the past three weeks Theo has been taking soccer classes. And he LOVES it! He's also in gymnastics class and has started swim lessons. Next is floor hockey I'm sure! He also loves to throw a football (he's really good at it actually) - but he won't be trying that sport until he's bigger! But I think it's all great! He loves to run and play with the other kids!
The only problem right now is (in soccer class) that it's basically a free for all and all the kids are generally running in whichever direction chasing the ball and trying to kick it into whichever goal they come across! It's pretty funny, but Theo gets upset when he doesn't get a turn (during the games at the end of the class). Although soccer is a team sport and in some ways about sharing the ball (with your own team members anyways), the kids haven't all caught on to this yet. So each week it's an experiment. A fun one, but still an experiment! :)
The coaches (Leon and Greg) are great with the kids and are able to smoothe over the waves whenever a problem occurs. And they make it fun for all of them with an open parents and tots period where the parents kick around the ball with the kids. Next come the games for the kids which includes mad running around games (like catch the tail), which Theo loves to volunteer for! After that they do some small drills (eg. dribbling the ball - sometimes around obstacles) and after that the kids are divided up into four teams to play a game!
All in all it's a fun experience!!!
