Skating for the First Time

Yesterday Theo went skating for the first time and it was fun! The day before on Saturday Theo was so excited! He kept talking about skating and hockey, and the hockey puck and he was making up stories about skating! It was so great to see him so happy and looking forward to trying out his new skates!

So on Sunday we went to Mud Lake, near Jamie's parents' place. It's really great there. The ice is pretty smooth and a section has been cleared for the kids to play hockey, but someone has also cleared a path for people to just skate. It's nice there!

Theo had a hard time standing on his skates (he has his first pair of skates - single blades as my friend's husband Barry recommended to start with those instead of the double bladed bob skates), but that was ok. Jamie and I took turns skating along the path with Theo. He had a great time! And he was very proud to have gone skating for the first time! Here are some pics to commemorate the event! :)

First skate with Daddy! Mommy still has to buy her skates (the old ones are broken - no wonder - I had them since I was 16 years old!) and is taking pictures instead. :)

So this is how it works! :)

With Daddy and with Grandma

That's it for the day, but boy was it fun!!! Off to Grandma's and Grandpa's for lunch now!!!
