Summer's End...

Yeah, I know, don't say it! But truth be told, it is summer's end. This weekend was the Ottawa Folk Festival. For me that is a signal (in addition to the odd tree that is already starting to change colour) that we're nearly done for the summer. It has been really fun! Holidays were great - yes, I know, I owe some pictures on my recent post. Ijust haven't gotten around to it unfortunately and will likely not be able to do it tonight either. But I will - by the end of the week hopefully!

So I will start this posting off with another Theoism. Last week Theo was getting annoyed with one of the little kids at daycare crying all the time. So he went up to Cheryl and said the following. And I quote (from what Cheryl told me)..."Cheryl, I don't know how you do it! My ears hurt from all the yelling. Can you make her stop please?" Ok, I'm not sure if he said please, but the rest is accurate. LOL! I have no idea where he hears these things, but he certainly uses them correctly! :)

This weekend was (as I said above) the Ottawa Folk Festival. It was absolutely fabulous, although I didn't know as many of the bands/singers as usual. My favourites were James Keelaghan, Mr. Something Something, Ray Bonneville, Bruce Cockburn (although I saw very little of his show), Digging Roots (absolutely awesome act!), Ellen McIlwaine, and Linsey Wellman. Those are the acts I actually got to see - not necessarily in their entirety, but I got to see some of them at least in part. Life at Folk Fest with a three year old is very different from when Theo was smaller. Which is totally ok. As I've said before; he is small only for a short time. So we spent a lot of our time walking around, hanging out in the kids activity area, trying out all sorts of instruments, participating in the kids parade and also on the beach, which is located right beside the festival site. We had great fun! Theo loved to dance in the festival dance tent, getting his face painted, he loved blowing bubbles all over the place (and by that I mean soap bubbles which were handed out for free at one of the tents), playing instruments, chasing his friends (and being chased) around on the grass, and just hanging out in general. Oh, we also ran into one of the daycare kids plus parents on the last day, which was really great! Theo just loves Khan! The two of them had a fabulous time playing!

Here are some pics from the day!

Isn't he a great dragon!!!

This one was for mommy - it's a bit of a dark picture, but this is James Keelaghan in performance

Today we are going to take Theo to the Super Ex, which is the downtown Ottawa fair. He has no idea. He is going to be so excited! I'll write about that tomorrow and will also post some pics.

Over and out for now!
