The Catch Up Game Again!

Well, it has been a couple of weeks at least since I last wrote in this blog. Lots and not much has happened all at the same time. Theo has grown like you wouldn't believe - physically and mentally. He speaks so well and his grammar has improved dramatically! It has been really fun!

I've traveled in my time away from this blog also. Last week I went to Calgary for one day and then for two days to Toronto on meetings related to my cancer file at work. It was interesting work and I also got to meet up with my dear friend Pam whom I haven't seen in about 8 years. It was soooo great to see her. The funny thing is - we didn't take a single picture of ourselves, which I am still kicking myself for! But we had a wonderful time chatting, catching up and reminiscing! It was so much fun! I felt like a kid in some ways. We went to the lounge at my hotel after she picked me up at the airport (which was right across the street) and chatted until after midnight. I was so tired, but didn't want to stop talking - whether I could focus my eyes (they felt like they were crossing out of exhaustion from having worked a full day, traveled and also due to the time change) or not. :)

I also got sick during my time away. At first it just felt like building sickness, but a day or so later turned into a full-on flu. It was terrible as I also had to attend my meetings - there was no choice. I basically went to my room to sleep during EVERY break we had! I actually managed to go to almost every part of the Toronto meeting with the exception of one presentation. I also tried to stay away from everyone so that I wouldn't pass this horrible flu on to anyone else. So I stuck to the back, ate in my room...I was horribly unsocial, but for a reason... :)

And I missed my guys terribly! I called them pretty much every night! I think things were easier for Jamie this time. Theo went to bed pretty late for two nights or so, but at least he wasn't crying for me for an hour or so on the first night. Which I think was a relief for both Jamie and me! If only I could win the lottery! I would be a stay-at-home-mom in a heartbeat!!!!

So I got back around 6 pm on Friday night - still sick, but feeling marginally better. We took it easy that night. On Saturday we went to the Great Glebe Garage Sale! Much fun was had and Theo scored big in terms of toys! I bought a Sony alarm clock for myself and spent the rest on Theo - no surprize there! *grins*

In the afternoon Theo napped and in the evening we just had a nice time together - I think. I'm a bit tired and my memory doesn't seem to be working too well today. Oh, right - we planted our vegetable garden finally! I was really happy to have all that done! But it clearly was a mistake to do this physically speaking. I was absolutely exhausted afterwards and went to sleep with Theo that night.

On Sunday we went to the Odawa Pow Wow, which was really fun! Theo had a wonderful time watching the dancers and walking around looking at the vendors' booths. My friend Lucy was there with us, but unfortunately we didn't get to hang out too much. It's sometimes tough to socialize with the wee one there. But that's ok. Lucy and I will meet for lunch some time really soon and catch up then!!! Here are some pics of our tired little monkey on our way back to our car that day...

Sunday afternoon was relatively relaxing. By the evening my throat was incredibly sore and I had virtually no voice. I went to bed early again, but woke up around midnight - sent a note that I would likely not be coming to the office on Monday as I was feeling worse and went to bed again. I ended up staying home on Monday, which helped a lot.

Today I'm at work...I might write more later.

Over and out for now!
